According to the World Health Organization, more than 90% of the world’s visually impaired live in developing countries. Our Vision Care Program provides all aspects of eye health care – from initial exams to prescription eyeglasses and life changing surgeries. Project Teams of ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians, technicians, nurses, and support personnel promote eye health and provide direct patient care. Services include: vision screenings, auto and manual refractions, medical consultations, eyeglass dispensing, prostheses fittings, and surgeries including: cataract, strabismus, ectropion/entropion, plastics, glaucoma, retina, laser treatments, pterygia grafts, and other minor surgeries.

Medical Ministry International supports residency training programs to assist local physicians to become ophthalmologists, including additional fellowship training in retina, anterior segment, oculo-plastics and corneal specialties. Optical Centers are developed and optometrists are trained to provide eye examinations and screen for disease.
